EGO LB7654 Review: 765 CFM Battery Leaf Blower Kit, Pros and Cons

The LB7654 is best at replacing a handheld gas blower on a typical suburban or small rural property. CFM measures how much air it moves and MPH how fast the air leaves the nozzle; at 765 CFM and 200 MPH on turbo, it has the airflow our sizing guidance calls for on 1 acre with trees.

• Wet leaves and caked debris. EGO pitches turbo mode for wet leaves, caked-on grass and small rocks, the jobs where weak battery blowers give up.
• Control. The cruise dial locks in 260 to 580 CFM, so you can run gently around beds and mulch and save turbo for the wet piles.
• No gas chores. No fuel mixing, pull cords or carburetor cleaning, and it starts at the push of a trigger.
• Fast turnaround. The 5.0Ah battery recharges in 70 minutes on the included charger.
• Platform value. The battery also runs the EGO ST1623T trimmer, CS1815 chainsaw and every other EGO 56V tool.

The biggest drawback is that the runtime headline and the power headline do not happen together. EGO rates up to 90 minutes on the 5.0Ah pack, but "up to" reflects lighter settings, and the listing does not publish a turbo runtime. Anyone who runs turbo most of the time on a big leaf drop should plan on a second battery, and EGO batteries are expensive: the BA4200T 7.5Ah pack is $439.00 on its own.
