Easy to follow, nothing left out

Every cut has a letter (A, B, C), and every step shows which lettered parts and which screws go together, so you build it like flat-pack furniture, one step at a time.

You also get dimensioned drawings, a materials and shopping list, a cost spreadsheet and CAD files, so the plans answer the questions that come up while you build.

CAD files included

A SketchUp-ready 3D model (.dae, every board a named part) plus DXF drawings for AutoCAD, LibreCAD or FreeCAD, so you can change a size, add your patio or hand the drawings to a drafter.

What you build

Plans for an outdoor griddle station in three sizes, for a 36 in, 28 in or 22 in tabletop flat-top griddle.

A low gray-washed cabinet from 2x4 and 2x6 lumber: a center bay that holds the griddle level with the counter, a plank prep counter on each side, slat doors with black pull bars, and a vented propane cabinet under the griddle (gaps between the slats, a slot at the bottom and the top, the back left open, and a strap that keeps the tank upright). Optional: a splash wall with a lipped bottle shelf over each wing and a side bottle rack.

Fire, heat and propane

A griddle is a burner. Follow your griddle manual for clearances to wood and for gas hookup, keep the propane tank upright in the vented cabinet or outside, keep a noncombustible zone around the burners, and check your local rules. The plans include a safety and clearances sheet.

Compatibility

The three sizes are drawn for the common 36 in, 28 in and 22 in tabletop flat-top griddles, including Blackstone models. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Blackstone Products. Always check your own griddle's width, depth and cooktop height against the Measure Your Griddle sheet.
