Segway Navimow i210 AWD Review: Quarter Acre Robot for Slopes

The i210 AWD is best at keeping a small, sloped, reasonably open lawn cut without a boundary wire. Network RTK is satellite positioning corrected with data delivered over a connection, so there is no local reference antenna to mount on the house.

• Slopes on a small lawn. All-wheel drive plus electronic stability control for 45 percent grades, which is unusual at this size and price.
• Turf-friendly turning. A concentric third wheel lets it pivot in place without scraping grass.
• Fast setup. One-tap auto mapping with network RTK and vision, with no perimeter wire to bury.
• Efficiency. An on-demand drive system adds power only when needed to stretch runtime.
• Multi-zone management. Up to 20 zones, with optimized paths and automatic resume after charging.

The biggest drawback is the 2 inch minimum cutting height. Warm-season grasses such as bermudagrass and zoysia are often kept around 1 to 2 inches, so owners of short southern lawns may not be able to cut as low as their grass prefers. Check the mowing height chart for your grass before buying. Cool-season lawns kept at 2.5 to 3.5 inches fit comfortably.

The second limit is capacity. A 7.1 inch cut and 2,690 square feet per charge mean a full quarter acre takes about four charge cycles to cover once, so scheduling needs to be generous. Like any satellite-based robot, positioning can also suffer under heavy trees or tight to tall walls; Segway's Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR Robot Mower uses LiDAR instead for those yards.
